Cloth Diapering

Weigh in: Rumparooz

We do not currently cloth diaper, although I've entertained the option.  This week a local boutique announced it was closing its doors and everything was extremely marked down. So being guilty of buying things I don't necessarily need, I bought the last 4 Rumparooz OS pocket diapers she had, for 10$ each knowing it was a good deal. 3 snap and 1 aplix.

Now, I was hoping for your opinion on the Rumparooz diapers.  I am debating between trying them for myself or giving them off to my sister in law who does cloth diaper.  My daughter is 16 months and 23 lb, long and lean.  What are your opinions/reviews on these and is it okay to only very part time cloth diaper??

  • You could always try them out and if you don't like them you could resell or give to your SIL.

Personally, I find the rise on RaRs to be kind of short; but they do their job.

  • Same here, the rise was way too short for us. I like the idea of the gusseted inner, but we didn't have great luck with the fit. We have a chunk of a kid though, so maybe RaR fit better on a long & lean baby!

  • We had outgrown them by the time she was 6 months.  We really liked them up until that point.
  • I really like them.  I'd say they are my 2nd choice for pockets.  I think they fit well and like the leg gussets.  We have an average height, average chunk baby.

    You got a great deal!

  • I like them too. I think they fit really well in the waist and legs on my tall & skinny little dude. $10 new is a screaming deal!

I'd try them on and see if the rise works. The fit on the legs should work.

I started out primarily with RaR and then read that OS diapers wear over time, so I've changed my stash around a lot. With that disclaimer, I LOVE RaR. Totally recommend them, especially if they're for PT cloth diapering.

I love the inner gusset (really only matters on newborn poop and sick baby poop, though) and how much softer TPU is than PUL.

  • Thanks everyone!  They seem to fit her, maybe not for long if she keeps getting taller, but with good reviews I think we might try them!

  • They're a great diaper, but the rise is short on my tall DD. She's been totally unsnapped for months, and they're sort of low on her now.

  • They are my favorite pocket by far.  My son still wears them snapped down at 16m.
