Ok, it's my first naive, new mom question!

When my LO gets upset the only way I can get her to settle down is to offer her the breast. It's an insta-fix and she's happy from then on out. Obviously when the reason she's fussing is because she's hungry, we don't have a problem - it's perfect.
The problem comes when she's really full but wants to be soothed and the soothing exercise of sucking causes her to become TOO full and then spit up. She won't accept any substitutes like a finger. I've tried bouncing, rocking, singing, walking around with her, but the whole time she's just rooting for the breast and becoming more frustrated. Most of the time I just end up giving it to her because I'm nursing on demand and I figure she could still be hungry, but I feel terrible when it turns out to be too much for her and she throws up. This kid would spend her entire life with my nipple in her mouth if I let her! Any suggestions? Thanks!

Pacifier??
Other than that, I'd probably just let her nurse. There is a 10 day growth spurt...and she may very well be in the midst of that.
Hang in there, Mama...it gets easier, I promise!
I'm assuming you've tried this already but pacifier?? If so, it could be a growth spurt so then I would just let her nurse. The early days are tough ones....it will get better

All of the above. Have you tried NUK pacifiers? My DD doesn't like any besides that one brand. She likes the contour I guess.
If I miss swaddling and putting her down for a nap before she gets over-tired then we're in the same boat - nothing seems to work.
What I'm doing now is putting her down before she hits a wall. She goes into her crib swaddled with white noise. I bought a white noise maker last week, and it's magic!
