New SAHM!

Hi ladies!  I am new to the SAH thing!  My DD is 7 weeks old.  I was previously a teacher and found out last Easter that I was being furloughed (not a good start to Easter break)!  Due to the economy and state budget cuts my district furloughed 21 of us.  Anyway, we decided that I will stay home and raise our daughter for at least a year.  I have to admit, I love staying home with her but also miss being in my classroom.  I am however excited for the opportunity to see DD grow and hit all the major first year milestones!

I'm staying home as well...at least for a while...I teach in NJ, and the climate is tough right now, so the idea of letting go is scary, but they'll hold my job for at least a year..

 My daughter was born in May, 4 weeks early due to placenta previa, and she has epilepsy and spent 35 days in the NICU!  I never expected that at all, and she needs me at home...I also have a son who's 3.  I went back to work 6 months after he was born and it was the hardest thing I ever had to do.

I must admit, it's bittersweet watching all my coworkers post on facebook "Back to school! In the classroom today!" stuff...but on the same behalf, this is what I've wanted all along! hah!
