Man, today has been rough. Madison had me up every 1.5-2 hours last night and then hasn't napped once today. She's been crying most of the day so in addition to being exhausted, my nerves are shot as well. Luckily, Abigail has been fairly easy today and just woke up from a 2 hour nap. I was really hoping to catch a nap this afternoon as well, but since Madison wouldn't sleep, that didn't happen.
The worst part is, I don't even know when DH will be home tonight. He has his golf league after work (he can't cancel since then his partner would have to forfeit tonight's game) and then he has to go back into work to finish up a project. Today has been the longest day ever and it's only 3 pm.
Re: This 2u2 thing is hard.
I have lived it too and boy is it hard. (still hard actually!)
The newborn stage is rough though with a toddler. I am sure you know this but it sounds like the baby is overtired since she was up so much last night and hasn't napped today. Sometimes my LOs would sleep good in the swing. Other than that, I don't know what other advice to offer, it can be so hard to get a newborn to sleep when you want them to sometimes.
And your DH coming home late really makes it rough. Damn those husbands and their golf leagues (or other sport, or actually anything fun they get to do while we are stuck at home!)
Hang in there!!! It will be better soon! Before you know it, they will be taking their naps at the same time and you will get a great chunk of peace in the middle of your day!
I don't have 2u2, but just wanted to say I hope your day gets better!
Madison is absolutely overtired. She keeps getting to the brink of sleep and then wakes up crying again. Normally the swing helps her when she's overtired, but I haven't had any luck with it today. Tomorrow has to be better, right?

Today is already going much better. Abigail is playing quietly with toys while Madison is napping in her swing. I'm enjoying a few minutes to myself to drink some coffee and relax. One day at time
