What Beverages Do Your LO's Drink?

My DS drinks mostly milk and water and once in awhile a toddler sized juice box.  I drink Crystal Light and have given him a drink of it.  He loves it and wants more.  Wondering what your opinions are on giving him some in his sippy cup once in awhile?  Or what other drinks you give your LO's besides diluted fruit juice and juice boxes.

  • Mostly milk and water.

She gets regular juice 1x a day at daycare and diluted and regular juice or lemonade on occassion at home.

She gets sips of coke, coffee and iced tea when DH or I are drinking them.  I gave her a very diluted coke once when we needed to do a urine sample at the doctor.

She gets chocolate milk once a week/every other week.  Its a Chik Fila thing

  • 95% of what he drinks is milk and water. He will have diluted juice if we are at a resturant with no milk or as a treat. He will also get drinks of dh's or my orange juice if we have some for breakfast.

  • just milk and water...they both dislike juice of any sort.  My 3yo will drink chocolate milk, however.

  • DS only drinks milk and water.  He's never even had juice because we didn't feel like the extra sugar was necessary.  I drink Crystal Lite and would probably consider giving it to DS if he was interested just because it's sugar free.  But, he drinks water fine and has never acted interested in the CL so we just stick with what works.  Good luck!

  • plain milk and water. If she gets juice, it's a treat at a birthday party and I usually drink most of the box before I give it to her.

I don't eat/drink anything with artificial sweeteners (such as crystal light), so I definitely don't give them to my kid.

  • I wouldn't do Crystal Light. Doesn't it have aspartame?

She usually just drinks water. I make smoothies sometimes, and she will have those. Basically just ice, yogurt and frozen fruit. Sometimes I make a green monster - peanut butter, spinach, banana, milk, ground flax or chia seeds, ice.

  • mostly milk and water. Sometimes a lemonade if we go to Chick-fil-a or an occasional Capri Sun flavored water. DS might get juice for snack at school.

  • Plain old milk and water.
  • Milk, water, juicy juice/fruitables juice boxes (4oz), or regular juice diluted. I second the no crystal light. IMHO fake sugar is worse than real sugar. A sip here and there won't hurt but not on a regular basis.

  • He mainly drinks milk or water. He sometimes gets diluted juice or diluted gatorade. Occasionally he drinks chocolate milk or OJ as a treat. He absolutely loves what we call "sparkle water" which is flavored sparkling water diluted with regular water. He drinks that a few times a week.

  • Milk water - diluted juice -more juice and less water if it has been a day or so with no poop.  He also likes yogurt smoothies, and is a tad under wieght and a picky eater.

  • Milk alone or w/ Ovaltine and diluted Gatorade w/ a bit of prune juice since DS tends to be on the constipated side and has had issues w/ this in the past.

I dont give him anything that is sugar free or light, since I read somewhere that those ingredients are not good for kids.  I would rather give them regualr sugar than drinks w/ artificial sweetners.

  • He drinks only water and milk. I would give him regular punch before I'd give Crystal Light because I have a thing about artificial sweeteners.
