    Chiming in late, but that's how I roll.

    I think everyone has very valid points.  Personally, I have a pic of my child, but that's because there are rarely any pics of me--I am always taking them.  I don't really think about it when I post a pic.  I think people are making a bigger deal about it then it really should be.  I have friends with pics of famous people as their profile pic.  I don't use pics of my child to hide behind.  I just think the pics are cute/funny.  Sometimes I have my artwork up.  It really depends upon my mood. 

    This reminds me...it's time to change my pic.

    Honestly, I prefer photos of my children because I feel that I'm unattractive in the photos I have of myself. It's a self-esteem thing.
