over the jumperoo at 7.5 months?

DD just started using the jumperoo regularly around 6 months and as soon as she got into rocking on her hands/knees at 7 months she slowly started losing patience with the jumperoo. Now she jumps three times (literally) and then starts crying. I can't believe she's done with this already. The exersaucer is still somewhat entertaining though.

Did your LO go through the same thing when they started flirting with mobility? Will she play again once she starts moving or is she just "over it" at this point?

Re: over the jumperoo at 7.5 months?

  • Yep, once they were mobile they wanted nothing to do with them!

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

  • I'd keep trying.  My boys will still handle being in the jumperoo/exersaucer for a short while (15-20 min) if we are sitting next to them, or maybe Mickey is on the TV.  We have them around still... and they make for a great obstacle course when they start crawling.  : )

that's kind of what I figured. Sigh. At least there will be less toys to trip over in the playroom :)

  • DD hasn't liked being in the exersaucer or jumperoo for a while, since she started crawling around 8 months. DS hated both items for a bit when he first started crawling, but now he has a new love for the jumperoo and seriously would still stay in there jumping for hours. He just laughs hysterically the whole time.

They both also now love to pull up on both items and cruise between them and play with the toys while standing next to them. So, they'll be staying in our living room for a while longer.

  • I'm not there yet, but I'm really hoping they like the jumperoo for a while, it is just such a convenient spot to put them sometimes!

That's the other reason we still have them set up. They are right by our front door to use when we need a safe place for them to go when we run back and forth to the car to put them in/take them out.

  • Pretty much.  I kept ours out until around 9 months because it was a great place to contain them while I ate lunch or did some things but once crawling happened at 7.5 months, it was more of a thing to pull up on.  The day DS pulled his exersaucer over on him was the day they went bye bye.  Now if they need to be contained i put them in the PnP.  I keep books and toys in there and they are usually fairly content in there.  I can drag it into the kitchen if I need to cook and they're fine with it.  For now, at least.

  • Oh no ... please don't let this be my guys .... its the only way to tire them out before naptime and Z loves to jump.  I wonder if he will launch himself out some days he is jumping with so much force!

  • Ours never had jumperoos, but they LOVED their exersaucers until they were at least 10-11 mos old.  I was sad to put them away!  Their daily "jump-offs" were hysterical.

  • mine were the same way, but until they started walking I kept the jumperoo in the livingroom to stick one of them in to contain them if I was coming or going by myself - they still didn't like it, but I knew I could get one of them in the car and the other one would be right where I left her!
