28 weeks...reduced movement

I know this has been asked alot, but DS's movements have been drastically reduced....is anyone else experiencing this?  I already have a call into my doctor.  Thanks.

  • I would call, too, but it could be space confinement.

  • At week 29, my little guy dang near completely stopped moving. It had me freaked. That lasted a few days and now he wont stop moving EVER. And it kind of drives me nuts :) They go through phases though, for sure.

Thanks!! The doc said to eat a big meal and drink a glass of cold water...I am not even close to being hungry but I am drinking something cold with sugar so we'll see what happens!

  • Around the same time I asked one of my Drs about this concern and she explained that it wasn't necessarily that the movement decreased but that it might have changed in type. As the baby grows, he will have less room to move so you may mistake "different" movement for less (less rolling and more stretching).

    Does that make sense?

  • I have also noticed this but earlier this week at my u/s both babies were facing each other so where I was used to feeling it strong is a little more dull with their new position. I think as long as you feel something daily it's probably ok but if you are worried def call your OB about it rather than wait just to play it safe.

  • I posted this same thing this last week. Call if you are concerned but I think it is normal at this point. My baby started dancing a couple hours after I posted this. :)
