Stringy hair

DDs hair is alway stringy. It looks great for about 5 minutes after it is brushed and washed then looks horrible again. Any shampoo recs or anything else I can do?

Re: Stringy hair

  • I'd cut it shorter.
promised myself I'd retire when I turned gold, and yet here I am
  • I use my shampoo on Bella's hair (Maile seems to have thicker hair). I also blow dry it with the diffuser on for a few minutes if I plan on her wearing it down. I try to fix it (pigtail braids, usually), but sometimes she likes it down.

  • If I cut it shorter I stll think it would be horrible and stringy, but then I could not hide it with braids and buns
  • I agree--Bella's done the short hair thing and it's way harder to take care of. I had to wash it and dry it if we were going anywhere, because I couldn't hide how bad it looked.

Now for me with my stringy hair, I try to keep it short because it looks better that way--and I can wash/dry it every morning. Right now my hair is long and if it's down, I rock the "hippie hair" look as DH calls it, or it's in a ponytail.

  • I usually quickly flat iron my dd's hair and that makes it look a lot better and stay.  It literally takes 30 seconds because her hair is already straight, it just kind of seals it I think.

  • Ugh. Join the club. Riley's is awful & if I don't put it up in braids or a ponytail, she looks like a feral child.
