Not having baseline?

For all my procedures (3 IUIs and 1 IVF & FET), I never had a baseline done.  Is this something I should push for this cycle.   Honestly, it never hit me that this might be strange until I read rjp's post. 

Anyone cycle without baselines?

That's strange as I thought they do baselines to make sure you don't have cysts, particularly if you plan on taking clomid or injectables for the next cycle.

I always go in for a baseline.  I am prone to cysts so I always have to make sure that I'm clean before I start any meds.  I would demand a baseline if your RE isn't pushing for it.

I've never heard of not doing a baseline. I would ask about it.

I have always had a baseline done.  It is rather odd that you have not.  I agree with Madhatter - I would discuss with your RE to determine why you have never had one and then request one.

Yeah, I've had one done for all my treatment cycles, usually on cycle day 3. They do a sono and bloodwork. I would definitely ask for one just to make sure everything is all good before getting started on all the meds...

I always have a baseline but not always b/w.

I think that's strange too.  My RE requires baseline u/s and b/w for a treatment cycle. I would ask why you haven't had this done.

I'm interested what clinic in MA you are at?  I'm in MA and I only had baselines when I was on a protocol without BCPs.  If I was on BCPs they did not have me come in for a baseline.

I am at BIVF.

Me too.   I don't know if I had them for my IUIs, but I don't think so.  Interesting.

Some insurance companies require baseline information. I have always had a check for cysts, AFC, proper hormone levels, and confirmation that I am not pregnant.

I would inquire and get a reason for skipping this. I have had cycles cancelled several times because of cysts.

Hey I don't always do a baseline also, but this past cycle made me realize how important they are. I went in for what I thought was Day 4 baseline and here I am pregnant! My beta was low so HPTs were negative and I got some bleeding so I thought I was on a new cycle.

I would definitely push for them as things could be going on and you really don't know. The more monitoring/testing the better.
