The Meanest Mom Award goes to me!

We are de-swaddling and Ferberizing all at the same time.  I figure if we gotta have rough nights we might as well kill two birds with one stone.  :o(  My heart is breaking for my sweet babies right now!

  • I can't believe your babies are 6 months!!!

Are you de-swaddling because they are flipping to their belly?

  • No...DS breaks out of his ten times a night and DD just seemed really upset the last couple nights we swaddled her... I'm just kind of done with it.  I'd like to bathe them, nurse them, lay them down and kiss them goodnight.  Sounds dreamy, doesn't it!?

  • Oh  - so he busts out and you have to go and re-swaddle?

We de-swaddled around 4.5 months because the girls were flipping over to their belly.  They were capable of doing it around 3.5 months, so we used sleep positioners for a month.

I found that if I put them down to sleep on their belly that they'd pass out without a problem.  They were moving to their belly eventually if we didn't put them down that way, so we did that and they slept AMAZING.

  • LOL-the title of this reminds me of when I taught second grade.  When I felt like I was getting mean to the class, I would tell the kids that I got strait A's in the class, "how to be a mean teacher."

One day a little boy brought me a green Halloween witch finger.  Soon after that, I had collected ten of those darn things.

When you feel like you're being mean, it's probably for the best.

  • I'm mean right now too....trying to wean off the bottle and DH and I are leaving for the weekend tomorrow.  1st weekend away without kids since they were born!
  • We did the same thing! Just to get it over with.  It's not perfect, but better!
  • I'm a mean mom too and trust me it's worth it.  I have older kids but when they were little my mom would say - just have three horrible days of being mean and it will all be worth it and she was right!  Hope you get to your goal.
