Running.... and peeing!

I seem to be having trouble since having wonderful DD. I called my OB today (because who else do you call when you pee all the way down your leg while running, and wearing a pad??) and she said that I should be tested for a UTI and if that is negative they will recommend PT for my pelvic floor.

Anyone been through this?

Re: Running.... and peeing!

  • Yes I had to have pelvic floor PT, but for a different reason - I was having a lot of pain.  It involved a lot of kegals. My therapist was nice I went once a week.  It was hard to find someone in my area.  Also, it took a long time and a lot of procedures before I was correctly diagnosed.  The PT was a little weird but it worked so well.  I was doing sets of kegals 2 times a day took about 20 minutes.  Now I'm fine and if it acts up I do some kegals for a couple days and I'm fine.  GL and I hope it helps you as much as it helped me.  I glad that your ob caught it early.  If you want you can PM and ask more questions.

  • Not quite that bad, but I did pilates based pt for pelvic floor and still do a class once a week, which has really helped.  I also try to do kegels regularly and my midwife gave me a vagina weight set (no I'm not joking) that assists you in ensuring that you are doing them right.  You basically continue to insert increasing weights until your pf muscles get back to where they should be.  Comes with a book of exercises.  Haven't tried it yet, but plan to start soon.
