Does anyone know if when you get pregnant with twins if they can tell if they are identical vs. fraternal based on initial Ultrasounds? From *the little* I have read it seems that only a DNA test can tell 100% and this is typically performed after the babies are born. I've read that often times identical twins share a placenta, but that there exceptions to that rule as well. My friend is 6 weeks pregnant with twins and she just found out today and so we were discussing this b/c the ultrasound tech did not discuss it today and she did not ask because she was so shocked.
