3rd Trimester

Are you my doctor?

No?  Then mind your own f'ing business!

I stopped at Starbucks this morning for the much talked about salted caramel hot chocolate (heaven in a cup, btw).  During the five-block walk between Starbucks and my office, SEVEN people that I don't know came up to tell me I shouldn't be drinking coffee.  Gee, thanks!  I don't know how I made it to eight months pregnant without knowing that I should limit caffeine.

Re: Are you my doctor?

  • Argh!  I would be so pissed.  I have a can of Coke with my lunch every Friday as a treat and it makes me insane when people look at me like I am causing some awful harm to my baby.  I hope you enjoyed your Starbucks even in the midst of the rude people!!  Sounds delicious!

  • People just really need to mind their own business.  Did you say anything back to them?  I know I would have by the last person.  They would probably have been told to F off. LOL
  • I would have said something back to them, it's not their problem!  And everything my dr shows me says you can have up to 2 caffeinated drinks a day!!!  But apparently we are supposed to deprive ourselves for 9 months with aches and pains!  Wish you had a better morning!
  • I will never understand why complete strangers feel the need to offer advice unsolicited. Drives me crazy! I am tired of the "Are you allowed to eat/drink that?".....No I just thought I would chose after 31 weeks to poison the baby I am carrying!!! freaks!

The first two I just rolled my eyes at, after that, I did actually ask if they were my doctor or another medical professional.  Seeing them get all flustered and embarassed did make me feel better!

  • What was your response?
  • At least you're getting hot chocolate.  I still get my white mocha (with the dirty looks)!

  • How do they even know what you had in your cup?  Geez, that's terrible!

B/f pg, my blood type was coffee and Mt. Dew!  I went off it during the first and most of the 2nd tri., but I can't hold out anymore. Even though I only have a cup a day now, people tell me I have become much more enjoyable to be around.Coffee=Big Smile

  • I'm surprised I haven't heard any flack from anyone. I go to starbucks at least 3 times a week for a caramel macchiato....I drink coffee in my office if I don't stop at starbucks......And I get sweet tea with lunch some days. I guess I'm just "awful". HA
