Whose full term babies do these tiny little things fit? It seems like at most - your child might wear for a week? If that? Based on growth scans - we're guesstimating baby will be at least 8 pounds when he's born so these tiny little things won't do him ANY good.
Wheee!

Re: "Just Born" Sizes - Up to 7 pounds...
It just hit me how awful that was for me to say. While it is true, I hope for her babies sake that he's perfectly healthy.
Aw, that's a shame alicat. She sounds like a real peach.
I am marveling at all of my newborn clothes actually - even the 0 - 3 sizes. It's amazing to me that they will be grown out of so fast. Luckily - I got bags and BAGS from some friends with little boys. And not just 0 - 3, I got 3 - 6, and 6 - 9 months too. At this point, I think I could change DS 3 times a day and still not need to do laundry for 3 weeks. It is seriously ridiculous. But - what do I know?? I am a complete rookie - maybe I'll need every item and be surprised at how fast we go through everything. Guess we'll see!

We keep being told that this baby will be 7lbs at most even if we go to 40 weeks so I have kept a good bit of the just born items people have given us. I still have tags and receipts on most everything so if I need to do some swapping after the birth I can. My sisters, brother and I were all under 61/2 lbs so I know my mom used alot of the smaller items for awhile.

DS wore some of his newborn outfits until he was almost 3 months. He was 6lb10oz when he was born.
The up to 7lbs. stuff is usually intended for preemies I think.
A few days before my son was born the doctor said he was about 7 lbs... he was born 3 days before my due date at 5 lbs 5 oz. This was not a u/s growth estimate though, but those are not very reliable either. Nathan wore preemie clothes for weeks before he even fit into NB. The 0-3 month were way, way too big. I have had a few growth u/s this time around to make sure my placenta is working well since they think that is why he was so small (not enough nutrition at the end) and as of last week they thought she was 7.5 lbs (could be 1 lb off either way). So she could be as much as 9 lbs or could be 8lbs or less. There is really no way to know until they are born. I have a few NB outfits and sleepers, and several onesies and kimonos. I would be surprised if we didn't use them for at least a few weeks.
