3rd Trimester

What are YOU wearing home from the hospital?

Okay, this may be a silly question..but what are you packing for YOU to wear home from the hospital.

I will be a FTM, and I'm not sure what "size" I'll be or what I'll feel comfortable wearing 2 days after birth....

I was thinking of packing stretchy yoga pants that fit when I go in..and maybe a nursing tank/hoodie...does this sound okay?

Re: What are YOU wearing home from the hospital?

  • Yoga pants and a v-neck t-shirt. The yoga pants are stretchy enough that if I end up with a c-section they don't irritate me.

  • I was thinking about a pair of maternity jeans from the beginning of my pregnancy, but yoga pants are great too!  Comfort is key!

  • I'm bringing a stretchy sundress that is NOT maternity, but I was able to wear it even recently!  lol  Loose and comfortable, especially after having a c-section, I can't imagine having fun putting on pants...(This will be my 3rd c/s).

  • I'm wearing my maternity yoga pants and a t-shirt.  Cause they often say you will leave looking about 6 months pregnant after birth and I want to be comfortable

  • Yoga pants and a t-shirt.  I don't think I wore jeans for about 2 weeks.  I needed flexible and breathable clothing to be comfortable.

  • I've only gained a belly so I can still wear my pre-pregnancy yoga pants so I know no matter what size I am when I leave they'll fit.

I also have alot of the stretchy cami's from Charlotte Russe that fit pre-pregnancy and stretch over my belly so I'll probably wear one of those with a zipup fleece.

The only thing I'm worried about is VS yoga pants are spandex/lycra and I'm afraid they'll look awkward with a pad...I may test drive with a pad before I go, and have to change my mind to more of a relaxed fit pant.

  • I will be wearing my yoga pants with foldover waist, which are awesome if you happen to have a c-section (its good to be prepared for that either way). A nursing tank and a hoodie just like you. That is what I wore last time and it was perfect. Plus some flip flops or maybe slippers since it will be Nov this time. My feet were still pretty swollen from some of the medications and I couldn't bend over to put on my own shoes because of the incision so slip ons were nice.
  • Same as many of you - yoga pants, a v-neck and a hoodie.

  • I will be wearing the same thing.
  • Probably gaucho pants, a nursing tank and a sweater or sweatshirt

  • I wore yoga pants and a nursing tank with a light zip-up jacket when I had DD. I'll probably wear something similar this time around.

  • I am having a repeat c-section and I plan on either wearing a comfortable sundress that I have been wearing throughout the entire preg. or gaucho pants and a shirt.

  • I am going to be wearing yoga pants for sure. If I feel like how I felt down there after DS I will be living in sweats and pjs for the next two weeks. I will also wear a nursing tank.

  • A nursing tank with a hoodie and some sort of sweat/yoga pants I'm sure.

  • Fleece lounge pants, a nursing tank, and a zip up hoodie. I was thinking yoga pants until a PP mentioned how the pad will look with them. Those pads are pretty thick, I'm thinking it won't look pretty from behind. Indifferent

  • I'm going to be bringing a grey, ruffly, knit nursing tank top and jacket set and wear them with my stretchy, black yoga pants that fit me when I was 6mos pregnant.  They still fit now too...gotta love super stretchy pants at this point.  (Wow... never thought I'd say THAT!  Lol.)  I checked that both those fit when I was 6mos. So I feel confident that they'll fit afterwards...although I'm a FTM, so who knows.  Lol.

Sounds like your outfit would be just perfect though for going home in.  At that point, I think that comfort will be key!  And yoga pants are suprisingly flattering too.

  • I'm wearing one of those jersey maternity dresses from Old Navy. It'll be comfy and I won't have to worry about lifting my legs to put on pants. Last time I had MAJOR stitches and anticipating trying to get into pants after possibly going through that again does not sound fun. Plus, if you end up with a c/s, you won't have to worry about the seam of a pair of pants rubbing against your incision.

  • sweat pants or yoga pants, a nursing tshirt and a jacket.
  • I had maternity jeans with me, but I couldn't face wrestling myself into them. I wore my yoga pants instead.

But I left the hospital about three hours after LO was born.

A couple of days later I was still wearing yoga pants.

  • Yoga pants and a t-shirt.  Probably both in maternity, because I doubt the paparazzi will show up to document my hospital exit :p  The maternity pants were a bit help last time, since it was stretchy and didn't put any pressure on my incision.

  • I am wearing yoga pants and hoodie from Gap that I bought a couple months ago. They fit me then and they still fit now (because of the stretch) so I should be all set.  Choose something comfortable and stretchy because you will still have a bit of a belly until your uterus shrinks back down.

  • Nothing fancy. Comfortable pants and a comfortable shirt. Last time I wore sweat pants and a long-sleeve shirt that I wore in pregnancy that wasn't a maternity top, but was cut long and a size up from what I usually wore. Comfortable clothing, in other words. I'll probably do the same this time around.

  • I had a scheduled induction with my first so showered and put on clean clothes to go the hospital as they immediately have you put on a hospital gown. I wore the same outfit home and it fit just fine.   Maternity capris and a tshirt like top.

  • I just wore a tank top and yoga pants.  The more comfortable the better.
