Seems to be kind of slow today so I thought I'd start something! What is the most memorable moment so far for you? Being pregnant or a new multiple momma or an old pro, what is the most memorable memory so far?
I'm going to have to go with when the twins were born, DS1 wouldn't let anyone hold them, he said they were "his babies"!!! That was a really special moment!
Re: Most memorable multiple moment so far...
Mine was a disastrous moment that I look back on now and laugh.
It was the first time we took the girls "out", we went to Carter's at an outlet mall, and then on the way back went to Walmart to get a few things. Right when we got to the WM parking lot, our car started stalling out. It wouldn't start back up, so we didn't really know what to do. DH said this happened to him once before at work in the morning, but when he went out for lunch it started back up just fine (He thought he had fixed the problem, but obviously not.) So we took our time at WM, and DH went out to see if the car would start. Just as DH left, both of the girls started screaming because they were hungry! So I was pacing around for about 10 min trying to calm them down and everyone was staring at me like "Take those damn kids home and feed them!"
The car still didn't start, so we started focusing on feeding the girls. We went to the family bathroom and I sat on the toilet and tried to BF the girls. W/o the pillow, that was pretty hard. I LMAO now when I think of DH holding one of the babies to my boob and me holding the other. I think it was supposed to be their Neosure feeding that time anyways, so we decided just to buy some formula and some bottles and bottle feed them since the BFing thing failed miserably. We ended up calling a friend and taking out the car seat bases and installing them in his car so he could take us home.
After that, outings seemed like a breeze!

Up until this point the twins have not really "noticed" each other. Last night we had them in their bouncers facing each other and they started baby talking to each other. It was all babble (of course) and probably coincidendce, but super cute none the less!!
They're *almost* 5 months and I'd to say other than their birth (which was the BIG one), when they started to smile a couple months ago. I cried like a baby the first time they smiled at me. Best moment ever! Each milestone pretty much makes me a blubbery mess, but smiles were the big one for me!
Seeing my parents meet them for the first time was an amazing moment too.
Since they were born, I'd have to say the most memorable moment was when MIL tried to take them overnight for the first (and only!) time. Before that night, DH's family would always make snide comments like "oh two babies can't be that hard" and blah blah blah.
MIL called DH within 3 hours of the boys being there saying she couldn't do it. DH went and spent the night there.
...and there hasn't been any snide remarks since.
During pregnancy I'd say the most memorable moment was when I was in labor. I was going on hour 18 of labor with no meds when the idiotic nurse had the nerve to tell me she didn't think I was having contractions, only round ligament pains. Mind you, I was literally sobbing at this point. DH refused to go get me a gun to kill the b!tch. I called my BFF and told her to bring me a gun and shovel to take the nurse out and she's helping!
That's hilarious!
Ok so like 75% lurker here, but this really made me want to chime in.....
I have a few, the first being seeing two hb's for the first time after years of IF (and of course the look on DH's face when the doctor yelled "ITS TWINS!")
Then at our 18 week sono, the tech scanned baby A and said "Girl"...I look at DH and start sobbing, and he is holding his breath and turning pale as can be, she scans baby B and says "Boy" and I heard DH gasp for air, he's words "Thank God I just knew it was going to be two girls and I'd be spending life in prison by the time she starts dating, atleast there is a boy to help keep an eye on her!"
The day we had them both together under one roof at home after 153 day NICU stay...and now seeing them smile when we talk to them or walk in the room.
calling MH to tell him it was twins was crazy. i was alone for the u/s (didn't expect to have one) and then headed to work to quit. what a day!
but then calling MH to tell him they found another baby and we were having triplets was THE BEST! It is ALWAYS a great idea to have an u/s on April Fool's Day. After he fell for that he seemed to come to terms with twins very quickly lol
Most memorable moments -
2 nights ago the girls were running back and forth in the living room. The turned at opposite ends and ran at each other met in the middle w/ a big bear hug. It was so sweet. The other is that everytime their brother leaves to go somwhere without them he has to kiss and hug each of his sisters. He's more worried about hugging them than US! LOL
The day they came home. I was sooooooooo excited and it was chaos. I had it all planned out how we would get the girls packed up in the hospital to leave, and then when the time came to go I was completely unorganized. I just had no idea what I was doing.
I remember that I didn't really relax until we left the hospital parking ramp. We'd been there every day for 6 weeks, and I was terrified that they were going to take my babies back and say they weren't ready to go.
Once we got home, it was pretty much a blur of crying, feeding, a thousand pictures, and getting the pets adjusted to them. I did not sleep very well at all that first night (ok, for the first week really). DH and I were overwhelmed, but so happy to finally be together in our own home.
