Are you counting by LMP or ovulation date?

I'm counting my ovulation date and using the due date Fertility Friend gave me, and that's what my ticker reflects, but even as I am excited about each new week, in the back of my mind, I'm thinking that I'm not REALLY there yet b/c I am 3 days behind if I go by LMP (which is what my doctor is going by).

Also, at my u/s last week, the gestational sac measured at exactly where I would have been going by LMP.  If I continue to measure behind, I'll probably adjust my ticker at some point. The thought of doing that bums me out. My progress! lol. I'll have to adjust in the middle of the week so that it doesn't feel so much like two steps back.

Re: Are you counting by LMP or ovulation date?

  • I'm going by ovulation date on FF, especially because I O'd a week later than usual.  At first appt they did put me two days ahead, but I still think it's safe for me to use the O date.

  • I am going by LMP because I know that the OB will go with that and because I did ovulate on CD 13 (thank you HCG Trigger shot) which is really not too far off from how the LMP date will be.  When I was ovulating on like CD 24 I told myself that I would go by ovulation date.

  • LMP.  Ovulation date would make my EDD earlier because I'm a super early ovulator (CD6-8 on a 29 day cycle).

I want to avoid the pressure of induction so the more time I can get, the better!

  • I am going by LMP b/c my doctor will go by that.

  • I went by LMP.  Although when I plug in the date on different due date calculators, I got april 12 and April 14.  I went with the 12th because it's closer!  I'll change my ticker once I get confirmation from the doctor. :)

  • Ovulation date...I wasn't temping but I was charting my CM and CP and using OPKs...my cycle was 40+ days so I am going by the O date for sure.

This is exactly me.  My EDD is 4/25 for now...once they do the first u/s I'll adjust then if need be.  Suprisingly enough my doctor listened to me and told me they'll go by my O date since I chart (until the u/s).

  • I'm going by my O date from FF.  Since I O'd on CD20 I know I'll be a little behind than my LMP date.

ETA:  Besides, if I used my LMP, I'd be a March momma and I'd much rather be an April momma Wink

  • Im going by my O date.  I calculated the due date both ways and they are only a day apart.

This. O date is more accurate if you tracked it, IMO.

  • LMP. I O'd 2-3 days late, but I know that's not a significant difference in the scheme of things. With DD we went by O date because it was a week late and that is obviously significant.

  • I'll go by O date unless the ultrasound conflicts, and then go by ultrasound. It does suck having to backtrack, though!

  • I'm going by ovulation date, but it doesn't really make a difference either way since I O'd on cycle day 13 this cycle.

  • I don't want to be disappointed by LMP when my due date changes at an ultrasound b/c I know better...I didn't have perfect 28 day cycles and I know the says that DH and I did the deed so I am adding a couple of days to my LMP Due Date.

  • O date.  My OB is using my LMP right now and I think I O'd even later than I thought, so he's way off now (6w5d vs. 6w1d).  I've never really gone by my LMP since I'm a later O'er, though.

  • LMP.  I wasn't charting, so I'm not positive when I O'd.

This. It's only one day difference for me, so even if my OB says 4/2, I'm sticking with 4/3. Wink

  • I have always gone with my LMP with my pregnancies. I didnt chart so I wouldnt know exactly when I ovulated anyways.

This. I O on CD 25 so if I were to go by LMP, it would be way off. I know the OB will go by LMP until I have an u/s done.

I went by O with my last 2 pregnancies and my due date didn't change by much when they did an u/s.

  • LMP because I don't know exactly when I ovulated...although they base this on a 28 day cycle and mine has been around 30-32 since getting AF after the baby.  One link (https://pregnancy.about.com/cs/pregnancycalendar/l/blpregcalc.htm) says I conceived on 8/5 and I did not even BD until 8/6 and 8/7 so I am sure I am "due" a couple days after EDD.  DS#2 was born 5 days late (although measured based on EDD) and DD#1 was born on her due date.  We shall see.

  • I am definitely going by ovulation date.  I ovulated several weeks late since it was my first real period after having DD.  Hopefullly my midwife won't go my LMP otherwise I'll be induced before I ever reach my actual due date.

This.  Except I O'd on CD22.  I woould be a whole week earlier if I went with my LMP.  I rather go with the later date.

  • I'm going by ovulation date.  My OB's office is going by LMP right now, but I'm guessing after my appointment (and u/s) tomorrow they'll change it since I didn't O until CD 23.
  • Ovulation date. I don't have a LMP Smile Depending on what the first u/s shows though I might adjust it depending on what my ob says. I will be a repeat cs so there won't be any guessing about when I deliver!

  • I just calculated by O date and it gave me March 27.

Most online calcs by LMP give me April 2

OB based on LMP gave me April 4

  • I don't know about other OB's but last time, when I was unsure of conception with irregular cycles, my doctor said if it was less than a week difference he would stick with my LMP date. So if I was 9W2 days according to LMP and measured at 9W6D he'd still go with the 9W2D. This time I o'd on CD 17 so LMP is perfectly fine.
