small triumphs

Nate was born on Sat., seven weeks early.  Today they took out his iv.  Tomorrow they plan to take him off of phototherapy. I know that he isn't ready to come home yet, but I am still happy that he is making progress.  I even got to feed him and change him in the NICU today!

Re: small triumphs

  • Those are all big triumphs in the NICU! No IVs means less chance of infection, no more phototherapy means you can see him, and I'll never forget how happy I was when I got to start doing diapers and temp checks. It helps you feel more involved.

Congrats on an exciting day! I hope tomorrow is just a good!

  • I'll bet you never thought you'd be so excited to change a diaper!! I remember that day fondly LOL <-- oh, look at that I can even smile over it these days.

Congratulations! I hope the rest is smooth sailing and that you'll find a good community here with us :)

  • First off Congratulations on the birth of your son! Sounds like he was born around 33w. My DD was born at 33w 4d and spent 12 days in the NICU. Praying for a short and uneventful NICU stay. Please keep us posted.

  • Take joy from the small things.  They have to be tough to make it through the nicu.  Congratulations!!!
  • Small Triumphs are HUGE!!!

Congrats!!! I remember changing diapers in the NICU...I would put them on backwards half the time because I was so nervous and I would get so embarrased!! :)

     T&P!!!
