It worked! (night time diaper of a babykicks hemp prefold trifolded as a core in a GMD prefold)
However, I've reached the conclusion that it's my kid's pee that is making the smell, not the diapers. The diaper reeeeeeked, this morning. I know it's not the diapers because I've only used the babykicks a handful of times and the gmd was new.
Re: and the verdict is...
Yay for nighttime.
That sucks for smell. Because I am probably in the same boat with the TT. It reeked after two uses in the morning.
Glad to hear it worked!
Our night diapers have been really stinky lately as well. I don't think the humidity here helps at all, but I'm planning an RLR treatment for this weekend.
I'm starting to think this as well, we used a diaper o/n that had only been worn one other time and it reeked like no other just like our regular o/n diapers
I'm glad the set up worked though
Could be the hemp. Even after just a few uses, mine stunk. Not out of the dryer, but after several hours at night.
Someone suggested to let the diapers dry completely (air dry) and then spray them with vinegar. Supposedly vinegar neutralizes ammonia.
I have had the best luck, though, with adding baking soda to the wash and vinegar to the rinse. I'd only do this as a treatment, though. I think vinegar is really drying and could be hard on the elastic.
