teething and only wanting soft foods?

I know my son's molars are bothering him as the last couple days he has two fingers in his mouth all day long rubbing his gums and he has been abnormally cranky.  Since this he has been refusing to eat all his favorite foods (even cheese!).  He basically only wants soft things that don't require chewing like yogurt, applesauce, pudding and those plum tubes of puree veggies/fruit.  It is really frustrating me because he did have a hard time transitioning from baby food to normal food but the last 4 months he has been eating regular food very well.  So I hate to see him go backwards like this.  Has anyone experienced this with teething?  Is it normal?  I'm trying to figure out if his reflux could be playing a part.  Thanks!

  • Totally - only she goes doesn't like eating much of any solid food and increases her nursing quite a fair amount.  Totally normal - it will pass!
