I finished Broken and then read Fallen, both by Karin Slaughter and now I have read all three of her series and can't wait for another book to come out! I also read Columbine by Dave Cullen- so well written and such an in depth look into the tragedy. Now I'm reading Delirium by Lauren Oliver (another YA dystopian novel and really good!). I should finish that tonight and then I think I'll start Made to be Broken by Kelley Armstrong (the second of her Nadia Stafford books about the cop turned hit woman).
I finished Snow falling on Cedars last week. I really liked the book and was glad it ended the way it did. Last night I finished Little Bee by Chris Cleave. It was really good but the characters (minus Little Bee) were sort of annoying; even the little 4 year old at times. Regardless it was heartbreaking but a great book. I have to hit up the library this afternoon and figure out what book I'll read next. Englishmajor03 21/25 CR: ?? LBR: Snow Falling on Cedars, Little Bee
Well aren't I slow?! I have finished 6/11 books. I just recently read "Under the Banner of Heaven" by Jon Krakauer. It was a look at the history of Mormon fundamentalism.
Now I'm on "Bright's Passage" by Josh Ritter. It's the story of a WWI vet who is running from his in-laws with his newborn son and an angel who has followed him from the war. Short, succinct and interesting.

LBR - I read "Into The Wild" by Jon Krakauer and "Cocktails for Three" by Madeline Wickham. Loved "Into the Wild". I've always liked Jon Krakauer, and have meant to read this forever. Glad I finally did it.
CR - I put aside "The Most Human Human" It's non-fiction, and I should be able to pick it up later. I am now reading "Faithful - Two Diehard Boston Red Sox Fans Chronicle the Historic 2004 Season" by Stephen King and Stewart O'Nan. I am a HUGE Red Sox fan, so I love this book!
I was reading Unlimited: How to Build an Exceptional Life by Jillian Michaels
but I just couldn't get into it with all we had going on at the time. So quite a bit of time had passed before I even touched my Kindle:(
I started reading The Help, it always got my attention but now I want to see the movie and I'm a book first, movie second girl. I really liked it. I have a dislike/like relationship with books that switch points of view, I'm not crazy about it at first but I warm up to it.
I haven't chosen a new book yet but I'm looking....
I finished The Almost Moon by Alice Sebold. I loved her other 2 books (The Lovely Bones and Lucky), so I had high hopes for this one. I was a little disappointed.
I also read Heaven is for Real by Todd Burpo. It's the (alleged) true story of a pastor's son who had an encounter with Jesus while having surgery. It's was 'meh' at best and I had to give the side eye a few times, but it was a quick read...so there was that.
This puts me at 43/60 for the year.
I am currently reading The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. So far, I like it.
Sorry to hear the new Alice Sebold is disappointing.
I'd been sick and reading, but not checking in. ::slaps hand::
CR (now 15/25): I'm still reading Raising Your Spirited Child (it's excellent)--almost done! Eager to read a novel or a memoir next.
LBR (13 and 14 of 25): now 84, Charing Cross Road and The Possibility of Everything. The first is a collection of letters written from 46 through the 60s between a New Yorker and the staff of a bookstore in London--short and really fun. The second is a memoir about parenting and travel by Hope Edelman--very good.

I finished the Mill River Recluse. It was good, predictable but okay.
Based on your rec here, I started Delirium; I love a good dystopia and wanted something fun to read between Emotional Life of the Toddler by Alicia Lieberman.
Vonita: 34/50 CR: Delirium and Emotional Life of the Toddler LBR: Mill River Recluse.
