Hi Everybody! I just hit 27 weeks today and am very happy to be in the third trimester! For those of you further along, I was wondering if I could ask a few questions to see if anybody is having the same experiences.
1. Arms falling asleep when I sleep-I keep getting pins and needles that are almost painful and wake me up when I sleep. This has been going on for almost 2 weeks and it is making it really hard to sleep. Any suggestions would be helpful!
2. Choroid Plexus Cyst Follow up-Some of you may have seen a post for choroid plexus cyst in the 2nd trimester following some anatomy scans; I know that I have seen the post a bunch of times which made me feel better about my anatomy scan where they found a CP cyst but told me it was nothing to worry about and will most likely be gone in a few weeks. I go for an ultrasound next week to see if it went away, but I was just wondering if anybody that had CPC markers at their A/S had their follow up ultrasounds and if so, what were the results?
3. Ugh I am trying SO hard to sleep on my left but I keep waking up on my back or sleeping on my right. Any tips as to what I can do to stay on my left???
Thanks everybody!
Re: Hi Everybody! I am new to the 3rd tri and I just have a few questions!
I have been dealing with the tingly arms/falling asleep for a while now. My dr said it was related to water retention. You might want to mention it to your dr though.
As for sleeping, I don't stress about sleeping on my left side. I'm much more comfortable on my right and I often sleep on my back. As long as you are breathing comfortably and not seeing stars, being on your back is fine. I get the impression that some women tolerate it better than others. If you are constricting the vena cava, your body will be sure to let you know.
If you really are keen on staying on your left side, maybe it would be a good idea to wedge pillows behind you.
I can't speak for #2, but
1. this sounds like pregnancy induced carpal tunnel. you can purchase wrist braces from Walgreens to help. I suggest wearing them at night to keep your wrists straight, but there is no avoiding it! I had surgery to correct regular carpal tunnel and am still getting symptoms!
3. My doctor has said that your body will tell you if you need to roll over. Just do the best you can to sleep on either side, but if you are on your back it is fine. If you wake up with pain or numbness in your legs, then I would be concerned, otherwise sleep however you can!
Thanks Everyone! Thanks especially Batuki! I am glad yours were gone; I hope the same for me! They just said that my risk of trisonomy 18 went from 1 in 25,000 which was my bloodwork odds to 1 in 10,000. Those odds are not bad so hopefully they will be gone!
RSVP Deadline: 10/2
1. this happened to me a lot for a little while (mostly 2nd trimester) but i don't really have any advice on how to stop it. it just kind of did on it's own. sorry!
2. my LO had a CPC at my anatomy scan and it did initially scare the hell out of me. i read into it as soon as i got home and found out that the doctor is telling the truth when they say it's probably nothing. turns out, a lot of people are living today with a CPC but have no issues due to it (ex. trisomy 18). i went back two weeks later for a follow up with it and it had already disappeared!
apparently since the u/s equipment is getting more and more precise they are finding CPC's more often but still have to warn you about it just to save their own butts basically.
3. i hardly ever sleep on my left side and everything's fine with me
if you end up on the other side/back just turn over haha.
hope this all helped!
