I have been feeling cramps since yesterday and they haven't left me today. They are not bad kind of like I used to get just before my period was coming. More annoying than painful. I also still feel a lot of pressure. I also feel burning but more it seems on the outside than a UTI or bladder infection. I've had those a time or two and this feels different. I am only 37 wks and while the baby's head dropped I don't know what this feeling is. As an FTM I cannot know when the pain is worth going to the doctor or L&D or just waiting it out. I did feel a little better once I drank something and I heard not drinking enough can cause pain. My question is this, can the pain/pressure be BH or early labor? (I bite my tongue on that one.) Don't get me wrong I cannot wait to meet my little one but I want her to rather come on time or even a little later than to come early. I am scared because I don't know what to expect. Any advice or opinions would be appreciated. TIA
Re: one question sorry if long.
This. if you are in labor, nothing you do (laying down, drinking water, walking around, etc.) will make them go away
"What did my fingers do before they held you? What did my heart do with it's love?"
When the doctors say "Call me with any questions or concerns" they KNOW that you're a FTM. So don't ever hestitate to call them. That's what they're there for.
Shoot, I'm on the my third child and I've called them a couple times already. No question is silly when it comes to pregnancy cause each one is different. So, if you are still doubting what it is, just call them. They are the doctors, not anybody on this board. : )
GL!!
Any OB or nurse at your OB's office can answer any questions you have. I ended up in the hospital from dehydration with my first. I was having a lot of pain and terrible migraines. The problem was I was also sick so I was throwing up everything I drank. Once I got the IV fluid I felt so much better.
I would bet your contractions are from being dehydrated. Start writing down how much you drink so you know you are getting enough fluid. You should be drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day. BH can also be painful despite what many websites/ books say. If you are still having contractions after drinking plenty of water I would at least call your OB's office.
