My doctor measured me a few weeks ago as being a two weeks ahead. Then the following appt. I was 1.5 wks behind. Basically, she told me that the fundal height can change between 1-2cm. It's common. My due date has never been changed. They aren't even doing a growth u/s cause they weren't concerned. She said most likely the baby will be on the chunky side. : )
Im 36 weeks now and have been measuring two weeks ahead for a couple of months now. I went for a growth scan yesterday and the doc told me that LO is already over 7 lbs! Although I am measuring ahead my due date hasn't changed. Hope this helps!
thanks ladies for the help .....oh n i wanted to say i never had a u/s to date my pregnancy i have only had a anatomy scan at 17 weeks n he was masuring bigh then also
At my last appointment I was 27 weeks 1 day and was measuring almost 6 weeks ahead! I had a growth ultrasound two days after and found out baby is measuring ahead but only about a week, so no big deal. My due date did not change, my scheduled c/s has not been changed. I am carrying this baby higher than my last pregnancy so my dr. said that could be affecting the fundal measurement.
My first child was 9 lbs. 5 oz so I am expecting another good sized baby.
Fundal measurements are not exact, and can change based on baby position, how you are carrying and each individual women's anatomy or body type. No worries.
Ever since they first started measuring me at appts, I have been measuring 2 weeks ahead. I've had 2 growth u/s and they haven't changed my due date. I go for another appt today and I had my 2nd growth u/s Fri so we'll see what happens. My dr has just told me my baby will probably be around 7 1/2 to 8 1/2 lbs.
I have consistently measured 2-3 weeks ahead at every appt since they started measuring fundal height. They never changed my due date though. She's just gonna be kinda big. Last week at my growth u/s they estimated her at 8lbs 3oz.
