babies r us classes

Has anyone gone to any of the classes that babies r us offers for free? I was thinking of going to the breastfeeding class and child safety one. If you went was it worth the time? Anyone else planning on going to any?

Re: babies r us classes

  • I attened a few months ago to the breastfeeding class they had at the store and I learned a lot. I am glad I went. They had a consultant from one of these places don't remember which one but it was good.

I didn't know they had a child saftey one. going to check that one out.

  • Never did, we registered for the ones offered through our hospital.  I found that BRU is very uninformed and understaffed around our area, so unless they bring in an outside consultant with some sort of certification I don't know if I'd hold much stock in what they offer at their classes.
  • I'm interested in the child safety class, and was also wondering if these classes were informative and worth my time.

  • So happy you put this out there. I never knew Babyrus had classes. Very interesting.
  • Obviously there is a marketing element.  The classes are sponsored by Medela, Safety 1st, etc and are designed to help you with becoming familiar with some of their products.  There might very well be useful info there as well, just understand why they BRU offers them.

  • I went a few years ago to one of their safety ones (my sis was pregnant, I was curious).  I liked it and she and her hubby got a lot out of it, too.

I thought I would be talked into buying something, but the breastfeeding class was good and the lady didn't try to sell anything, she barely talked about the Medela stuff (she didn't work for medela) not sure if it would be the same in all areas
