Alternatives to MF inserts for pockets?

The MF inserts that came with most of my pockets are starting to not be enough to contain DD's heavy wetting. What can I use instead? I have some AFFF hemp inserts that I use for nighttime, but I don't really like using them during the day because they get so stiff. Is it possible to stuff a pocket with a really good prefold? Any other ideas?

  • a lot of mamas on this board suggest orange edge GMD prefolds, trifolded and stuffed in the pocket.  Once fully prepped they will hold more than a MF insert.  I'd already have some if I wasn't so seriously on the wagon :

  • I was just looking at those! I seem to remember that they sometimes do a big sale on seconds- anyone know when that usually happens?

  • I've stuffed pockets with a trifolded prefold. Also, I bought the Thirsties Hemp doublers and used one in a pocket... they're really soft and not as stiff as other hemp inserts I have. Might be worth trying.

  • Prefolds work great, especially for nighttime

I add Hemp Babies doublers under the MF for a super trim boost in absorbency.  They are really thin but hold a ton!
