Moms who actually jog with their Jogging stroller...

I need advice.

We registered for a jogger with a swivel wheel now I after reading some reviews saying the wheel shakes really bad while jogging I am skeptical, afraid if I don't like it when I first try to jog its going to be way too late to take the jogger back. (Nervous because we assembled our swing the other day and let it run for a bit and were overwhelmed by a burning electrical smell, so exchanged it for a totally different brand)

So opinions please fixed wheel, or lockable swivel wheel? Please only weigh in if you use your jogger for jogging not strolling.

Thank you

  • I have a BOB ironman and use it for jogging on paved roads. I really like it, but it sucks that I can't use it on trails if I wanted to. I've never tried a moveable wheel jogger though so I can't comment on whether I'd like it better.

  • I got the BOB Sport Utility because I wanted the fixed wheel and I want to trail run again. I haven't used it yet, but the company I work for sells them so I've been talking with people about them for years. I stayed away from the Revolution because I wasn't looking for one stroller to do everything, I just wanted a good jog stroller. I like the larger front wheel and that it tracks better. :)

  • I got the Bumbleride Indie.  I really liked it because I can use it as a regular stroller with a swiveling front wheel and then lock the front wheel for jogging.  I would totally recommend it.  It is much smaller than most joggers, so it can be used for more than just jogging.  I have read nothing but positive reviews.

  • I have a bob rebloution with locking wheel and love it. Having the option to have a swivel or fixed front wheel is SO nice.  I have found, also having used a less expensive jogging stroller, that a jogging stroller is something where you get what you pay for.

  • If you really plan on running with one, definitely get the fixed wheel.  The only thing that has happened to me is if you take the fixed wheel off (like for transport or something) and don't get it back on perfectly straight, the stroller will pull one way or another when running.  It's a bit tricky to turn, but it becomes second nature after a few uses.  Definitely recommend the fixed wheel if you plan on jogging/running outside (on not unusually curvy paths).

  • I have the BOB Revolution with 12 inch wheel so it can be fixed or swivel.  I highly recommend the swivel as the fixed can be a total pain in teh a$$ if you know what I mean.  I took my DS jogging with it several times a week and had no problems with it.  With joggers...you definitely get what you paid for.

  • I have a BOB sports utility fixed wheel for running.  I felt my friend's swivel/lock jogging stroller and it didn't feel as "sturdy" for that quick run I took. The locked wheel is a PITA for everything else, even running a bit, but otherwise it makes it so much easier. I was running on a paved path. You have to learn how to turn the wheel and it's a little annoying, but much easier for safe running--less effort to keep it going in a straight line.

I have not tried the BOB Revolution with swivel/fixed wheel--that one may be much better.  My friend had a Baby Trend and I wasn't a fan of it.
