Anyone gone on antibiotics right before IVF - UPDATE

Just found out I have an ear infection and was prescribed an antibiotic that I need to take for 10 days.  I expect AF to come around Friday or Saturday and am suppoesd to call the RE to discuss what day to start BCP.

I have a call into my RE, but was wondering if anyone has been on antibiotics right before starting IVF - or if they typically make you wait.

Update - RE's office called and they said the antibiotic I'm on shouldn't be taken at the same time as BCP, but they have some flexibility of when they start it - so I'll really only be postpone 2 or 3 days.  What a relief - I was worried that it would delay me a month if not more!  Now if I can just get this ringing in my left ear to stop! :)

    Since antibiotics can counteract BCP, this may be a concern.  I do know I was supposed to start an antibiotic after ER.  But I know this doesn't really help you.

    z pack/azithromycin, but no bcp in my protocol.

    My protocol has 2 weeks bcp that started on CD3.  Had a sonohysterogram on CD7. They had me take Doxycycline for 3 days for that. They also have Doxycycline prescribed for just before and after my ER.

    I'd put in a call to your RE. I've taken antibiotics after transfer but not before with bcps.

    Glad to hear it worked out!

    I had to to take antibiotics before with medicated IUI's (haven't done IVF yet) and my RE said that as long as it's one that is safe during pregnancy, I could take it during my stims.
