Toddler travel bed...do you have a Peapod? And other reccos?

We are traveling in a few weeks and my DS is really tight in a PNP (he's 35" tall) but he has rolled out of an inflatable toddler aerobed before...the Kidco Peapod looks a bit bigger than a PNP but obviously has sides so i thought it would be a good option...thoughts?  Anyone have anything that has worked well for you?

  • We don't have one currently but we both like this and if we had a need for it we'd get it.

  • I bought an aero like travel bed from amazon.com and it works well. It has sides that blow up and keep my 2 year old in the bed. She likes it. It comes with a pump and takes no time at all to inflate/deflate and takes up very little room. Just search toddler inflatable bed on amazon
  • We have the peapod plus (I think goes up to age 5 or so) and it is awesome.  We bought it last year and use it for trips, going to the beach, anywhere where ds won't be in his own bed.  It is great for us and we have gotten way more use of it then we did the pack and play.

  • We usually just put a mattress on the floor.  We've used a regular bed mattress or just couch cushions in a pinch.
  • Is this what you tried? https://www.amazon.com/AeroBed-Sleep-Tight-Inflatable-Kids/dp/B00006IV33/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1312828626&sr=8-1

We have it and love it. DS has never fallen out, but I generally put one side against a wall and a folded up blanket on the floor of the other side just in case. It's got raised sides.

  • I have been thinking about this lately too.  DS2 is only 18m, but already filling up the PNP pretty well.  We moved DS1 to a daybed pretty early (long story), but am not ready to have DS2 sleep in a day bed anytime soon.  He's fine in the crib, but when we visit my parents all they have is a PNP.  I'm going to use it as long as we can, but I think we'll look into something like that Peapod.  To me, it's not worth buying a cot or inflatable toddler mattress compared to just putting a regular mattress on the floor or blankets.  I wish they made longer PNP!

  • I found this portable crib, but it might not be ideal to actually travel with.

  • We bought a child's inflatable mattress from Target for DD, and it has a sleeping bag that zippers right on to the mattress.  It kept her in nice & tight.  It wasn't expensive....maybe $30-ish?  Then we had to buy a pump, too, but it worked out well for us.  You could always put a pillow on either side.  It's not very high off the ground.
