I really want to get Magna Tiles for DS for his birthday, but am having trouble swallowing the cost; I was looking at Magformers today on QVC's site, and you get much more for the money. But are they necessarly better? The reviews are good, but I really liked how easy the MT's were to use.
Anyone use both and have a preference?
Also, any recs on places cheaper than Amazon to buy the magna tiles?
Re: RP: Magna Tiles or Magformers?
I don't have both but we have magna tiles and LOVE them. DD literally plays with them every single day and DH and I love them too. Whenever we have OUR friends over they sit and play with them too. They are colorful and very well made.
Well worth the money in my opinion!
We have Magna tiles as well and I now reccomend them to everyone I know. My DS plays with them all the time and My DD is starting to as well. Since they are pretty expensive I put them on their chirstmas/birthday lists. I know that they will last for a long time, both the tiles and the enjoyment he gets from playing with them. Last time I was at the children's museum where we discovered them, there were 8 and 9 yr olds playing with them too!
There is a website called what she buys . com, that is where my mom bought his last set.
Revising my reply. Both of my boys have played with MagnaTiles and love them. DS2 tried out what I think are Magformers at an open play at a toy shop (photos I found online look the same). They work the same as magnatiles! I would suggest purchasing them from somewhere you could return them at if not what you expected.
