2004 Chevy Avalanche ... Carseat ... PLEASE HELP! :)

If you have a Chevy Avalanche, how in the world did you get your car seat to fit? Either the straps are too short to fit in this LATCH system, or I'm just not very smart. Is there any way I can purchase longer straps? I have the Baby Trend Expedition jogging stroller travel system.... Please help? I really hope I don't have to buy a new car seat!

Now I'm wondering if this is a problem with later models too. My parents have an '08 or '09 Avalanche and I registered for the baby trend car seat... Hmmm

Excuse my baby brain, but are you saying the straps on the base are too short? I have the same travel system and the straps are almost too long, even after tightening them all the way.

Maybe check with the fire station/police station to see if they have a car seat inspector.

On your Chevy Avalanche? You have to lift the seat up, latch on the straps, but when you go to put the seat down, you can't because the straps are too short. At least for my truck I was installing it to get it checked out anyway, so maybe I just need some hot fire fighter muscle

I recently discovered on my new car seat that I had the straps going through the wrong hole under the seat. I had not put the baby in the seat yet but apparently it came from the factory with the straps set up for forward facing - not rear facing. Just take it to the highway patrol. They'll do it.
