...because I'm freaking out at DD suddenly STTN. ![]()
It was really sudden, too. Friday was her two month Well Baby checkup and vaccinations, and while I expected her to be sleepy and grouchy, I didn't expect her to suddenly start STTN. Her typical schedule is bedtime at 10-10:30pm, night feeding at 4:30-5am, wake up at 6 for another feeding, awake until 8am, naps until 10am. But after her visit on Friday, she's in bed at 10pm and sleeps until 6-7am. I actually had to wake her up this morning so I could change and feed her. This has only been going on since Friday night, so I'm not sure if this will continue or if this is temporary.
Naturally, I wake up at our normal times during the night in a panic because she's still asleep, and the terrified, overly-paranoid FTM part of my brain is freaking out because I am beyond scared of the idea of SIDS. My husband must think I'm insane for bolting out of bed at our normal feeding times during the night to check on LO (her crib is in our room on my side of the bed), but I can't help it.
She's happy, healthy, active, and at that point where she's smiling and giggling regularly...so is this sudden STTN normal? If I'm being overly paranoid, please tell me. ![]()
Re: Maybe I'm just crazy...
that's what happened with ds1. he was doing about a five hr stretch at night, and suddenly, with no warning or "stretching" that first five hrs, jumped straight to nine hrs and stayed there. has slept through the night since.
ds2, however, teased me with four nights of eight hours, and then "relapsed" back to 6. still happy with 6. but to answer your question, yep, it can happen just like that!
