Anyone ever have to strike?
My Dad is a union worker and they just went on strike. I was thinking of trying to do something to show support during his strike hours. I have a friend that does gourmet cookies and I was thinking maybe she could do something with thier logo or I could find a company that I can have bring in lemonade and water.
I am not sure though what the union typically provides and what is allowable from the outside.
Just wondering since I know there are many teachers on here if anyone has been in this situation and has advice.
TIA

Re: Teachers and other union workers please come in
Teachers aren't really allowed to strike. We can do "job actions" like work to rule, or make a picket line right after school, or refuse extra help. But public workers (at least in NJ) cannot strike and not go to work.
At any rate, cookies would always be appreciated by anyone.
Thanks for the FYI. I didn't know that. All I recall is being a kid and hearing about contract disputes over the summer and possibility of school not starting on time but that was a long time ago and I was a kid so my understanding of the situation was shaky at best.
