NBR- Low-Stress Date Nights

Since my ability to move freely has been limited--and because of my fainting issues I'm advised to stay out of the summer heat DH and I have taken up watching movies and cuddling up for dates (prepreg we went to the gym, waterpark and long walks together) ---we've been trying to watch movies that we've heard about/always wanted to see but never got around to...for instance last night we watched The Godfather, which neither of us had ever seen...

Anyone have any movie classics they'd suggest?

Anyone else have other "easy" activities they are doing to bond with DH before babies that aren't baby-related?

  • Here is the top 10 American movies of all time according to the American Film Institute:

     1. Citizen Kane

    2. Casablanca

    3. The Godfather

    4. Gone with the Wind

    5. Lawrence of Arabia

    6. Wizard of Oz

    7. The Graduate

    8. On the Waterfront

    9. Schindler's List

    10. Singin' in the Rain

You guys could always learn a new board game, or play cards together. DH just learned how to play backgammon and we've been having fun doing that.

  • I agree, board games and cards are a ton of fun.
We bought Monopoly, Guess Who, and Life, and we always had an ongoing Rummy competition.
It was fun to play that little kid side with each other, no pressure and always a blast. You could make little snacks and lemonade to have during play lol
One night we painted together...We would take a picture from a magazine and paint our version of it. The end results always created a laughing fest...and we know laughing is always great for the relationship!!

  • And if you ever feel like a western, I recommend "McLintock!" with John Wayne. It's one of his later westerns in color, but it has some great humor in it, not all about the gun fights and stuff like his earlier work.

  • Since we already have a LO we don't get out much either. We play a lot of board games. Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit are our favorites. As far as classic movies, I really like Gentlemen Prefer Blondes but it's not much of a DH movie. I usually watch it when he's at work.
