Hi ladies, We are just starting our nursery and I'm hoping you all have some recommendations for good quality but not terribly expensive blackout curtains in kid friendly colors. I want curtains that will block out the light during nap time and give me a dark room for the baby to sleep in.
Thanks!
Re: Blackout curtains
We bought room darkening blinds when they were on sale at Lowes and then just put a dark brown curtain over top. It could feel like night time in the nursery at any point in time during the day.
Side note: We got the cordless blinds for safety. LO's crib is positioned close enough to the windows that it made me nervous to have cords everywhere. Also, it only takes a push of a button to raise the blinds.

My DDs have these in their room (pink, 63") and they make the room significantly darker. I wouldn't say that the room is pitch black during the day but it makes a big difference compared to regular curtains.

We got cut to fit vinyl roller shades from Home Depot for all of our bedrooms. The largest ones are still under $10. The best part is you can use any curtain, even a sheer or valance, then just roll the shade down for naps.
A decent, cheap curtain we have used is the Eclipse brand from Target. They do not fully black out the room but they are only $15-30. From the reviews, the darker colors block the light better, but ours are light colored and only let a soft glow of light through.
This is what I did too. We got our blinds from Bed, Bath and Beyond.
We got ours from Pottery barn Kids...
