I have been 1.5 cm and 50% effaced for 3 1/2 weeks now. I have no progress. I'm 40 weeks today and I had an ultrasound bipic done and she hasn't even dropped yet. She is perfectly healthy and measuring right on track which makes me very happy, but I am very for her to GET OUT OF ME!
If I haven't dropped, haven't lost my plug and haven't had any progress does this mean I have a really long road ahead of me or is it possible that things could change overnight??
Re: FRUSTRATED!
I'm a FTM so I can't answer your question. But I do hope she drops soon so you can enjoy your sweet little girl a.s.a.p.

I'm 40 weeks 1 day, not dilated at all, baby hasn't really dropped, haven't lost my mucus plug, no contractions, etc. I'm scheduled for cervical ripening on Tuesday and then induction on Wednesday. I feel your pain!
i just went for an hour long walk and will do so every day until Tuesday!

This! I know plenty of people who have had no early signs then woken up in labor. All the books say FTMs usually lose their plug, have the baby drop, etc, weeks before but that doesn't mean all do.
Good luck!
Thanks ladies!
I have been doing all the "remedies" walking, sex, spicy food, warm baths, pineapple and so on. I didn't necessarily believe in all of these things but was willing to try.
A lady I work with did tell me today that just because the baby hasn't dropped yet doesn't mean anything. Some babies just have no room to get any further. Never thought about this, but I'm hoping maybe its true, but if she doesn't have room to drop maybe she wont have room to come out?? Just a nervous FTM thought
Again, thanks ladies!
Don't let your coworker get you worried. A lot of babies don't drop until you're actually in labor. With my first, I had NO signs that he was coming out anytime soon. In fact, I was sure he was staying in for at least another week. Then one morning, I lost my mucus plug and he was born 12 hours after that. Progress can develop slowly over time, or it can happen very quickly all at once and every woman and every pregnancy is different. I know it is so frustrating to be overdue, but your baby will be here soon.
