OK, maybe I'm being totally silly but if I hear one more time how DD looks *just* like her Daddy, I'm going to scream. We had a family party last weekend and many were meeting her for the first time and the instant they look at her the first thing out of their mouth was *laughs* "She looks like like her Father!"
Not to say my husband isn't attractive, haha. BUT she's my first little girl and I want a bit of genetic credit!
Reminder: I'm not actually mad about this, it just is a silly pet peeve. I only carried her for 9 months, gave birth to her and here she is, a little replica of her Dad.
Re: She looks exactly like her father!
Well your daughter is absolutely beautiful, so DH must be a good looking guy
Funny enough, I feel like my DH gets a little irked that DD looks so much like me. It's almost insulting, LOL! He's holding out that her eyes stay blue like his.
I feel exactly like this!!!! We live in the same town as DH's family, who I adore, but all I ever hear is how much she looks like him. She looks like me too! Just because you didn't know me as a baby. Yesterday FIL posted a picture to my facebook of how much DD looks like DH's sister as a baby. I wanted to scream.
It just bugs me. I carried her for nine months. I went through a 33 hour labor. I got a 4th degree tear. She's mine too!
I get it too. thank God DS sleeps exactly the way I do, fist under the chin. At least he gets that from me.
What is weird is that I don't really see it. For me DS looks like a baby and not really like one of us yet.
I didn't see it at first either until I started looking at our baby pictures and could see that DD was the spiting image of me.
I hear this all the time too. It's kind of annoying. There's no way she looks JUST like him when she has long dark brown hair like I did when I was born and my husband was bald and eventually had blond hair.
I read somehwere though that this is actually some kind of survivial thing from back in the day where babies do actually look more like their dad at first so the father was sure it was his and would provide for the baby. Once they get older the blend of mom and dad evens out.
I hear you! lol. It's not so much the "She looks just like her father" comments that get to me ...its the "she got her [insert random body part] from [ insert random relatives name]" that drives me batty.
Seriously...don't mind me I'm just the baker.

haha, that is the one thing I would want. DH had a full head of hair by one and I was bald until I was three! (I was three months premature but still, I was seriously bald for a long time).
I get more upset when people say, "oh no, she looks just like him". Like it's a bad thing!? I obviously cared for him and found him attractive, and I think my daughter is gorgeous, so no, I'm not upset she looks like him. At least she has a nice olive complexion!!
Your daughter is gorgeous, and they change sooo much in this first year. She may still mold into a nice mixture between you and your DH.
