God Bless The Breast Shield/Guard

We have had no issues with BF. DD is a champ. The only thing was how I would die a little inside each time I nurse on the right side. We have tried all diff. holds and tried latching and erlatchibg, but there was always 1 spot to the right of my nipple on the aerola that hurt no matter what. Well I just got a guard and it is Magic. Also I think it helped when my milk let down. DD didn't get choked up for once

So if anyone is having pain issues it is worth the $8!

I concur!! My little Parana had super suction and even left me bleeding twice. We used the shield and problems solved! Eventually you can both wean off of it but for now I am happy that you have found something that you helps you. Best of luck!

  • I love breastfeeding so much and this makes it enjoyable! I look forward to not having to use it like you said.

  • Agreed! My LOs had some latch issues because they were a little early, and one had tongue tie.  The shield is great!  I'm currently working on weaning from it, but it's a huge help.

I will say, though, that I was given a Medela shield by my LC.  I wanted to buy more, but was cheap and got the Tommee Tipee.  It hurts like HELL.  Worse than nothing at all!  I'm sure that's not everyone's experience, but yikes, it is for me.
