changing doctors.

I feel like my doctor is to busy to care about me.   He come into the room and takes a look and leaves.  5 mins is all I get I feel like if I am paying him I should get more then 5 min of his time.  I guess I was hoping for a better experiance. Has any one changed doctors in thre thrid trimester?

People change doctors all of the time.  If you really feel that you're being neglected, then find a new provider.

For what it's worth, my doctors hardly see me either.  The medical assistants do all of the vitals (BP, weight) and then the doctor comes in to measure me and listen for the heartbeat--that's about it.  The visits are supposed to be short at this time unless you have questions/concerns.

I'm sorry you're having that experience. I haven't switched drs mid-pregnancy, but I definitely would if I didn't feel that my pregnancy was important to my doctor. I'd start looking now, it's not too late!

Trust your instincts. If you're feeling neglected now you'll feel it more so and ignored when it comes to making decisions in L&D. Get some good referrals from others, be specific about what you're looking for and make the change. As long as everything has been going pretty smoothly it should just be a matter of getting your records moved over and getting to know you're new doctor.

I changed ob for this baby because of my insurance. But my last ob even though he was super busy always made me feel important. Asked questions, pretended to know my name,  etc.  Maybe I just got lucky with him and thought all ob where like that..
