How is Max doing?

I was just coming on to update.  It turns out he has viral meningitis.  There is no treatment, so he has to ride it out.  At this point, the chance of it being fatal is small.  That was the best news I have ever gotten!

There can be some long term effects of him being sick so early.  He could have hearing loss, memory issues, vision issues and learning disabilites but after Wednesday I could care less.

 Thank you for all of the thoughts and prayers.  I have a new respect for NICU moms!

I'm so sorry he's sick! I can imagine how stressful that is for you. Its great that they think he will be able to ride it out though. Hopefully he will come through with minimal long-term effects.

You are an awesome NICU mom too-there is nothing in the world like it but you will survive and there is life on the other side.
