I remember going to WIC and they loan them out. So pretty much you get the pump and buy the replacement parts. I've never heard of Medicaid doing anything with pumps. You can always call and ask but I know that (here in Cali) they redid a bunch of the Medicaid covered stuff last July and dropped off a TON of stuff that used to be covered.
I asked about this (I have Medicaid in the state of Ohio). The will pay for a manual one, but a dr will need to write a prescrip for an electric one and use a reason like "to help supplement supply" because "going back to work" is not a valid medical reason for them.

In Minnesota you are allowed one new breast pump through state aid Medica. I'm not sure if general Medical Assistance helps with breast pumps but I know for sure the Medica through the state health care allows one breast pump. My job cut my hours so I am not eligible for health insurance through my work so I had no choice but to apply for Medicaid at least until I'm able to look for a different job after pregnancy. I've never heard of WIC giving breast pumps but I'll have to check into that!
Our state's medical assistance will pay for a breast pump, which is great news for me. My midwife just has to send in a prescription for it once the baby is born. WIC does also, but they want you to get it from your insurance if you can first.
In Arkansas, WIC will give you a brand new Medela double electric pump (great pump!) if you are returning to work. With my son I qualified for WIC due to a tornado that destroyed our town and had both me and my husband not working for a bit. My sister in law also just got her pump last week due to having twins in the NICU, so I know that it is still effective here. If you aren't working/going to school/have medical reasons that you have to pump rather than actually breastfeed you can still qualify for a manual pump, just not the super deluxe electric pump. Medicaid does not cover breastfeeding supplies other than while you are in the hospital...they will cover all of the supplies that my SIL is charged with (they have to use certain bottles and can not reuse bottles, so they will continue to give her fresh bottles and it will be a hospital charge) because it is a "medical necessity" on the twins part. Good luck! I am planning to reuse my WIC pump from last time, and am so glad that I got it...we don't qualify for WIC this time and the pump is really nice...I am very thankful that that service is there for people who need it!
I live in Nebraska, My wic office told me about Milk works.Im not sure if medicaid helps with any of that but i do know medicaid will help with a free crib if needed. That was news to me after my mother inlaw bought one for the baby.
In the state of Idaho, Medicaid will not pay for a pump, BUT WIC will lend you one, electric double, if you are going to work or school 4 weeks after you have your baby.
Re: ladies on Medicaid i have a question!
This. Where I live, WIC will give you a breast pump if you tell them that you plan to breast feed.
