Oh yes! DD has 2 tsp of Miralax in prune juice daily and still sometimes has problems. When she has constipation problems though, it is mostly b/c she consumed too much milk in one day. I work at a Childrens Hospital and our colo-rectal doctors say they have some kids on Miralax until they are 4, so I try not worry about it.
Maybe change the amount you are giving her. When we saw pedi GI doc she said you could give more or less of miralax depending on consistancy of poop. I notice if I try to wean my DD a little she sometimes get constipated so I go back up to a larger dose.
My GI dr. also reminded us to make sure DD drank lots of water for the above reason.
DD was on Miralax for almost a year, and we were able to get her off of it with probiotics. I had started giving them to her when she was on antibiotics for a sinus/ear infection, and I noticed that she started having diarrhea. So I thought it was the antibiotics, but when I stopped the probiotics (and she was still taking the antibiotics), the diarrhea stopped. So I thought, "huh, if I'm giving her Miralax AND probiotics and it's giving her diarrhea, maybe if I stop the Miralax & continue the probiotics, she'll be back to normal". Well, wouldn't ya know? I never had to give her the Miralax again.! Just a thought.....either way, lots and lots of water!
Also, the GI dr. told us that sugar loosens stool, too, so if you give her straight up juice for a few days, she'll probably drink more (because it's sweeter than water) AND the sugar might help her along.
