Hello There. I'm new to the Bump but need some advice from SAHM. Any of you have jobs or part time jobs that you do at home or with kids in tow? I'm really trying to convince my husband into downsizing our home and me staying at home with our DS and our soon to be DD. Just hoping I can back up the please with some sort of income from me. Any suggestions or advice would be much appreciated!
Re: Stay at Home Jobs
i started selling on etsy about a year or so after becoming a SAHM. it was just a hobby, i didn't start doing it as a "job" but now i definitely put in about 20-30hrs+/wk (using nap time and nights to do my work).
is there something you could do on your own instead of working for a company? that gives a lot more flexibility as a SAHM.

The chances you'll find something at home that you will be able to do with your kids are slim, unless you're really talented and can sell on etsy, but people that actually make something on those sites are few and far between. Plus, doing stuff like that when kids are awake is nearly impossible, so then you're scambling for time during naps/bedtime and you're cutting back on time for chores/DH time/"you" time. Working a part time job outside the home is probably easier, more lucrative in most cases, and definitely less time consuming. Why not get a job evenings and/or weekends opposite DH's schedule on a part-time basis to earn money?
Once all three of my kids are in school full time, I plan on starting a small cake business. It'll be a while cause I'm pregnant with our third child due next month. : )
You can always do candle, tupper ware, candy, or Pampered Chef parties.
put your efforts in to convincing your DH that downsizing is nec if you want to SAH.
SAH jobs just dont fall in to your lap.
Its not glamorous, but I'm starting at a daycare in a few weeks. I got lucky that they will keep my son for free while I work and I only have to work 6:30am to 9:30am.
and my mom put an add in the paper and babysat a little boy for almost two years when I was in high school. With just him she made $60 a week. So a nanny thing might be good for just a little bit of extra cash.
