I had my Lap last on the 18th and the found that I had tons of scar tissue so bad that it was attached to my bladder and he said he couldn't even find my left tub until he removed most of the scar tissue and than he saw that my tube was twisted and foled over totally not functioning. He removed the scar tissue and and unfolded my tube which he had found a poylp in and removed that and than did HSG to make sure it was working.
I had my follow up last week and he said he couldn't guarantee my tube would work but, it seemed to be working and he said that based on my age (38) he only gave us 6% chance of getting pg on our own and 11% with drugs and IUI and 45% with IVF. IVF is out for us since we have no coverage at all for it. we can afford to do 1 maybe 2 IUI OOP but, that's it.
What chances were you given?
Re: Did your Dr's give you chances on becoming pg?
I have diminised ovarian reserve.
Based on that and my age (30) she gives us about a 3% on our own, 15%-20% with IUI and 55-60% with IVF. We have no insurance coverage either but if the first two IUI's don't work we will move on to IVF since I'm working with a limited time table.
Good Luck!

I did 1 IUI in may but, that was before the lap.
RE gave me 15% chance of 1st successful IUI, and it increases to 35-45% for subsequent IUI cycles, and I will need to consider IVF if I have 4 failed IUI cycles.

i also have DOR. i just turned 32.
my first RE gave me a less than 1% chance of conceiving on our own, 5%-8% with clomid + IUI, 15% with injectibles and 25-50% with IVF. it's worth noting that our first TTC cycle for baby #2 in january i got pregnant and miscarried. and a few months later he told us we had less than 1% chance of conceiving (just conceiving mind you) on our own. then my first clomid cycle in may i also got pregnant and miscarried. so my first RE wasnt exactly right about my chances of conceiving was he?
my second RE thinks that my chances are higher given my age and proof of live birth. i dont know where they get these stats but i dont think that they are always right....and my first RE and the clinic he works at gives the hard sell on IVF.

With no improvement in DH's SA counts, we have a 5% chance of ever conceiving on our own. Add to that that I have low progesterone, and the chances are even less of actually achieiving implantation and sustaining early pregnancy. We don't even know what our chances are for IUI because it all depends on how DH's counts respond.

7DPO Progesterone: low. CD3 BW: normal, HSG: clear
DX: severe MFI (low all 3) and low T. Undergoing replacement therapy.
This exactly. We're unexplained.
If I ovulated regularly we'd have a <1% chance, give or take on our own. Just not enough motile sperm. But I rarely ovulate (and when I do it's with weak progesterone) so it's effectively zero.
With clomid/IUI we'd be able to get that up to <5%. Again, just not enough sperm- but at least I'd be ovulating and we'd be timing everything right. If we went to donor sperm, 15-20%.
IVF, however, we're at 60% chance and because the only known problem is technical (getting the sperm to the egg) it hasn't decreased despite our two failed attempts. I'm not feeling warm and fuzzy about that number right now though.
With those kinds of numbers, it was realistically IVF or adoption.
It's good to know that even the best IUI numbers shouldn't go above 20-25%. The human reproductive system just isn't efficient. IVF only goes above because it lets you put the sperm and egg right next to each other.... and then pick the most promising embryos... and get them to the uterus. It takes over a lot of the potential problem spots except implantation.

We just got our dx yesterday: DOR and slight MFI. I'm 34. Our RE gave us these chances:
- No treatment: 1%
- Oral therapy (Clomid) & IUI: 3%
- Injection therapy (FSH) & IUI: 5-10%
- IVF: 25-50% (He said much closer to 25%.)
We're OOP, so I'm not sure any of these look promising enough to move forward with...Began TTC #1 in Sept. 2010. I was 33, DH was 36.. Dx with DOR and slight MFI (8/4/11).
Test results (after first RE visit 6/21/11): 7DPO b/w: Progesterone = 11.3; CD3 b/w: FSH = 10.1 mUnits/mL, E2= 52.0 pg/mL, AFC: 6; SIS Ultrasound: Uterus great, tubes clear! AMH: 0.3
