did your lo have thrush symptoms?

i have been told by my doc and a lac con that i have thrush.  have experienced it on the inside and outside of my breast and have treated both.  yesterday saw a new lac con at a breastfeeding support group who freaked when she found out that my pediatrician said that my daughter did not need to be treated unless we saw white in her mouth.  we haven't so she hasn't been treated. 

did your lo get treated for thrush regardless of whether or not you saw white spots?  i hate to doubt my ped but i also don't want to pass this back and forth.

I was told in the hospital that if I got thrush, it was a mutual thing. So if I were to get it, I needed to be treated and the LO's mouth and diaper area all need to be treated in order to completely get rid of it. I have not had thrush, but this is what they told me will need to be done if it ever becomes an issue.

Like PP said, I was told it is a mutual thing (not the genitals, but mouth and breast). I had a bad case of it, but my daughter only ever had a light white coating on her tongue. We treated both because you pass it back and forth, even without any symptoms.

I have thrush and my DD did not have white spots in her mouth, but we're both being treated. I was told the same as PP.

thx.  made an appt with the doc and will insist on having her treated!
