Thankfully, I have been blessed to make it to 31 weeks without any heartburn. But low and behold, today...it began! All while eating pizza (which I have had before and been fine) and all of a sudden I was hoping I was imagining things. Nope, its the real deal and so I wondered what any other ladies have done to help? Ever since dinner time I've been craving water and feeling super thirsty, but of course no tums in the house! Not sure what else would help but any suggestions would be wonderful
Re: Here comes the heartburn...
I have been dealing with serious heartburn since nearly the beginning of the second trimester. I have tried it all. My last resort for when I feel like I am dying from it is to drink 1 tsp of baking soda mixed in a glass of water. It tastes horrible and makes me feel like I am going to throw up, but it does work better than anything else I have tried.
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar in a cup of water (works well for medium heartburn)
They don't have Zantac in the country I live in, so I am have to figure out other solutions.
My heartburn comes and goes (with no rhyme or reason) but I've been sticking to natural remedies.
I either chew DGL tablets or put some apple cider vinegar in water and drink it. It burns at first but really helps in the long run.
You can always try an elimination diet although I'm not sure it will help. Tomatoes are a major no-no for regular heartburn sufferers so you could see if avoiding them helps you.
Also, just eating small meals helps a ton.
Good luck!
