Stay at Home Moms

happy to be here

I just posted on 3-6 about how I just landed my dream job. Today was my last day trying to be a working mom. I am kissing corporate america goodbye and I couldn't be happier. I am a SAHM at heart and we decided to make it a reality. It won't be easy, but it's so worth it to me.  Any advice as I start my new life?

I'm sure i'll be lurking and posting here often  Smile

  • I'm so envious! I'm doing the opposite. I've been SAHM for four months and in two weeks I'm getting a part time job and even though I will only be working three hours a day M-F I still feel like I should just be at home with my baby. Money is just a little on the tight side, but my husband makes mountains out of any form of financial molehill, so the tad bit of extra money will help us (me) not feel guilty when I want to go buy DS a new toy.

But that is great for you! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. So many of my friends just knew that in a few months I would want to have me-time away from the baby and go back to work, but I L-O-V-E soaking up every minute of time with my baby.

    Congrats!

  • Welcome!  Being a SAHM is amazing and fun and I feel so blessed to be able to focus on LO full time.  I would suggest getting involved with other moms in your area.  When our LO was 7 weeks I joined a mom's group offered through the hospital that I delivered at.  Once I started attending those the other moms recommended taking him to swim classes (they are free until he's 5 months).  I've also recently signed him up for a Musicology class that's he really enjoys.  So far we're having the best time meeting other LOs and getting out of the house for fun and educational activities.  My husband told me last night that he's proud of me for really embracing my role as SAHM and giving our son the best opportunities.  Welcome and GL
