Seeking an off-post referral. Round 2.

I switched my PCM today to a civilian provider that has nothing to do with the military healthcare system on post, other than the fact that she accepts my insurance.

It is my understanding that because she is not affiliated with the healthcare system on post, my referral will be sent directly to Tricare instead of needing to be approved by the IF clinic on post first. *Fingers crossed*

Are you Tricare standard or prime?  I work for a med equipment co and I deal with Tricare referrals day in and day out....I know how frustrated you must be!!  If you are prime, and your PCM is off base, then as long as your PCM sends a referral to Tricare for your RE to evaluate and treat, you are good to go.

I just changed my PCM so you know the drill, I have to wait for Tricare to approve the change before I can make an appointment.

Oh, I'm tracking now.  My brain wasn't moving as fast as my eyes.  Hopefully it's quick and the civilian PCM doesn't have a long wait!

 I have my lap on the 25th so I'm sticking with the RE on post until after that is done.   I'm so worried that my new PCM will fax the referral to the MTF instead of Tricare directly and it will just get denied again.  This is such a PITA.
