First night of Stims

Hello Ladies

I am prepping mentally for my first injection tonight. I am making my hubby do it for me..I have read and seen many videos on youtube that it isn't "that" bad.. I'm just trying not to play the little mental game :)

Me: 31 DH: 51 TTC since 6/2010

DX: 5/2011: Blocked Tubes IVF w/ICSI only option
Lap: 6/2011: Removed Tubes
IVF #1: Aug/2011
First Injection: Follistim & Menopur 8/2/2011
ER 8//17/2011 ET 8/22/2011
IVF # 1 Fail 9/2/11

    Oh the head games! I promise it's not that bad and I also promise you'll feel awesome after you do it knowing that you're one step closer. Good luck!

    Good luck!  I think you will find they aren't that bad.  I use Humira for an arthritic condition I have and it was way worse than any of the IVF injections.  Even though it is sub-q, I have DH do it.  I actaully do all of my sub-q IVF shots myself.  For me it was less painful/more convenient than having DH do them.  But, I have him help me mix and draw the shots and of course he does all the PIO injections!

    ~SAIF/PAIF/Everyone Welcome~ 

    Me= 37 and DH = 41 

    Dx: DOR, Endo, APA+ (really high beta 2 glycoprotein antibody and high everything else tested), heterozygous MTHFR mutation, positive for lupus anticoagulant, high FSH, low AMH and both tubes blocked (per HSG on 3/8/11)

    IVF #1 - long lupron (with HGH, intralipids, lovenox and BA); 4 retrieved, 3 fertilized; ET 2 blasts and 1 frozen = BFN

    IVF #2 - a version of antagonist with EPP (with HGH, intralipids, lovenox and BA); 6 retrieved, 4 mature, 3 fertilized, 2 blasts and 1 frozen blast transferred on day 5 = BFN.

    IVF #3 April was postponed to May, May was canceled. June/July was canceled. Had a cyst aspiration and then began IVF #3 in August. ER on 8/22; ET on 8/24 with AH. +HPT on 9/5. Beta #1 (11dpo) = 3; Beta #2 (15dpo) = 29; Beta #3 (17dpo) = 60; Beta #4 (19 dpo) = 118. Heartbeat at 6 weeks 6 days =132.  Lil is here!

    TTC#2:  Trigger + TI = BFN; Clomid + Trigger + IUI = BFN.

    IVF #4:  BCP + MDLF + Lovenox = 7R, 1F = Transferred 1 6-cell embryo on day 3 = BFN

    IVF #5:  MDLF + Lovenox = 4R, 1F = Transferred 1 10-cell compacting embryo on day 3 = BFN

    IVF #6:  (New RE):  Long Antagonist November 2014 (transferred two 8 cell grade 1 embryos and froze one blast) = BFN

    FET#1:  BFN

    Once you do them a couple times it will cake, its really not that bad , good luck!
    TTCing since 2008 Unexplained 3 - IUI's all BFN's IVF#1 July, 2 grade A, 8 cell embies put back, 12 frosties. BFN FET #1 10/30, beta #1 on 11/11/11-352!!!BFP!! Beta #2-1152 image

    You can always ice the heck out of it...that way, you won't feel the needle at all, just the meds.  How much the meds burn varies medication by medication and person by person, and I hope you are in the painless group!  After the first night where the anticipation was just awful, I always put on some music, took a deep breath, had DH do it, and got on with my night.  Get yourself a little treat for after, too, it definitely helps!

    CFNBC 7 months, not doing well; decided on guarantee program at RBA w/frozen DE

    Thanks ladies.. Of course not knowing what I am doing I am having issues with mixing. I was told to do 1cc of solution, 1 menopur and mixing my 75 UI follistim from the pen into the menopur bottle. Well when it was time to take it all back out into the mixing needle I had less than a quarter worth...I called the dr line and waiting for a call back :(

    Yay! I did it! It only took me 2 hours :) Now to do it all over again tomorrow. Thanks again ladies!

    OOh I'm scared. Are those needles the huge ones that look like knives?? I see some thinner ones that are just as long but I think those may be for mixing. I've been keeping myself "uneducated" about that because I'm terrified. I start on Friday. How bad did it hurt??

    9/6 Beta: 9.2 (low positive)  9/7 HPT: BFN
    9/8/11 ANOTHER Beta: BFN
    TTC Naturally
    3/2012 Lap done, very little endo. What now? 
    5/2012 IUI FAIL!
    IVF# 2: 12/13/13- 1 Embie transferred
    12/24/13 Beta- 20
    12/30/13 Beta- Hcg in the negatives. BFN
